@sami4softball asks...

Q: Do you have a favourite breed?

A: Both Laura and I love abyssinians, but my ultimate favourite breed has got to be a sheltie! Lucy x

Q: What do you do to keep their fur so awesome?

A: The majority of our pigs are short haired so a good diet will keep their coat healthy and shiny! (See our blog for information on diet). We've also seen after years of keeping guinea pigs outside/ in sheds how the colder weather can benefit them.

For the long haired pigs we have regular grooming, shampooing and scheduled hair cuts!

Carla asks...

Q: Have any of your guinea pigs ever suffered from mites? Do you have any tips for prevention?

Luckily we have never really had a problem with mites.

In order to prevent this changing, we make sure our hutches are always clean, and mite spray our piggies throughout spring and summer.

If your piggy does get mites, disinfect their housing and all toys, and treat them with ivermectin.

Q: What is your daily routine for the piggies?

A: The piggies usually get a veggie breakfast of little gem lettuce, carrot and bell peppers. The babies get a top up of alfalfa and we try and give out as many cuddles as we can! If the sun is out, the guinea pigs will enjoy the whole day on the grass- munching, chatting and napping! They all get a change of water and fresh hay before bed, and more cuddles and grooming if we can!

Q: What food brand do you use?

All our guinea pigs are fed on Harringtons Optimum Guinea pig food. A pellet food which they have all thrived on! Laura x

@panda.pixie.peach asks...

Q: What do your piggies ages range from and how do you keep track?

A: Our youngest guinea pig at the moment is 10 weeks, and our oldest is Bramble, who is 6.

It is quite easy to keep track of ages once you know their personality! It's like remebering one guinea pigs birthday only we have 33! Laura & Lucy x

@boyz.n.motion asks...

Q: Do your guinea pigs have any toys?

Our guinea pigs have a variety of toys; each hutch has at least one bendy log bridge that they can chew, lounge under and climb on. Smaller toys we buy from viovet, an online store, with a great range and reasonable prices. A true hit with our guinea pigs is the 'trio of funballs'. Laura & Lucy x
